Wine is no longer an alcoholic beverage, according to Moldovan law — enter your new favourite foodstuff.
Lawmakers made the decision to classify wine as a food last week, asserting that, unlike other alcoholic drinks, wine has a number of health benefits. Furthermore, the move will doubtless be a big help to Moldova’s wine industry — local producers are now able to advertise on TV and radio and shops are permitted to sell wine at any time, sidestepping the country’s nighttime ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks.
Cheers!
