Melania Trump’s Slovenian hometown unveils new First Lady brand

The Slovenian town of Sevnica is making the most of its status as the hometown of US First Lady Melania Trump, launching a new brand in her honour. Aptly named First Lady, the brand is a one stop shop for the best in homemade local products.

Set up by the Sevnica Public Institute for Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Activities, First Lady is your go-to purveyor of salami, confectionary (including speciality chocolate-covered dried apple slices), pastries and herbal tea. But it doesn’t stop at food — why not pick up a T-shirt, mug or hat?

According to The Slovenia Times, First Lady is just the tip of the iceberg, with a number of Melania-themed delights coming onto the market in Sevnica even before the election. It was reportedly possible to enjoy a Melania Trump burger or pie, but controversy regarding the use of the First Lady’s name without her consent put a stop to some of these enterprising initiatives.
