The newest project by Russian fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy and IDEA Publishing launched on Friday. Produced in honour of the fifth anniversary of Dover Street Market Ginza, PRINT EDITION is an enticing limited edition box of prints.
If you delve inside the red box, you will find five photographic prints and five graphic screen prints from across five years of Rubchinskiy’s work. Each of the 100 boxes is signed by the designer and numbered.
The first 50 boxes were released at Dover Street Market Ginza on Saturday 18 March, with others later released at Dover Street Market London and New York; Comme des Garçons Trading Museum Paris; and online via DSML e-shop.
“We wanted to do a retrospective of most iconic pieces while refreshing it with some new work. There are graphics as well as photos as they are a very important part of our storytelling. They compliment each other. We wanted to show both,” Rubchinskiy said of the prints featured.
PRINT EDITION is the fourth collaboration between IDEA and Rubchinskiy, following the success of the photo books Crimea / Kids (2014), Youth Hotel (2015) and The Day of My Death (2016).
