Street Art Museum in St Petersburg to launch new season

19 April 2017

St Petersburg’s Street Art Museum is poised to open its fourth season, Brighter Days Are Coming, which features artworks inspired by revolution. The new season’s exhibition comes in the midst of Russian and foreign museums’ celebrations of the centenary of the Russian revolution this year.

The season will feature 50 artists from 10 countries who will present their works inspired by radical change, rupture and the power of a crowd in the museum’s large open air space in a suburban factory building in St Petersburg. The list of artists announced includes AES+F art collective, Spanish artist Ricardo Cavolo, Italian artists Sten & Lex, as well as famed Russian animator Yuriy Norshteyn. The season is curated by a Russian-German team: the director of the Museum Andrey Zaitsev and Berlin’s Urban Nation initiative leader Yasha Young.

The new season is set to launch on 13 May.
