On Friday the Moscow metro launched a new train that will not only get you across the Russian capital, but transport you through time.

The carriages of the “Times and Epochs” train span five historical periods, and are populated by a host of characters in honour of the eponymous annual historical reenactment festival taking place from 1 — 12 June.

While each car supposedly corresponds to a specific era, reports suggest that one shouldn’t be surprised to see Roman soldiers mingling with elegant noblewomen of the pre-revolutionary era.
