Look out for the Slovakian sneakers set to be this summer’s hottest shoes

British newspaper The Times has picked out Slovakian brand Novesta’s summer sneaker collection as one of this season’s top trends.

Novesta plimsolls date back to the 1930s, when Jan Antonín Bat’a opened a factory in the small town of Partizánske. The shoes, which are made of natural rubber, 100% cotton and linen, made their US debut at the end of May. To this day, all Novesta sneakers are made in Slovakia.
