Siberian tigers strike a pose in rare “selfie” series

A family of rare Siberian tigers, also known as Amur tigers, have been snapped in Russia’s Far East, even appearing to pose for a “selfie”.

The remarkable photos were released by Leopard Land, a 262,000-hectare national park in Primorsky Krai, who captured the images using a ground-level automatic monitoring camera.

The playful cubs engage in some rough and tumble until their seemingly tired mother steps in, with the photo shoot brought to an end when an inquisitive cub knocks the memory card out of the camera.

It is estimated that there are around 22 adult Siberian tigers and seven cubs in the park, with a total population of approximately 600 Siberian tigers living in the wild.
