The weather in Moscow has been less than summery of late. Could the reason be that “winter is coming”, in the form of a very special Game of Thrones underground premiere?
The first episode of the seventh season of hit fantasy drama series Game of Thrones is due to be screened inside a Moscow metro station (yet to be revealed) in the early hours of 18 July, reports The Moscow Times.
“For the first time in history, a series premier will take place underground,” reads an announcement by the Moscow metro’s official account on Russian social media platform VKontakte. “That night the unique event will transport [viewers] to Westeros, where they can be among the first to watch the first episode of the new season on the big screen.”
To set the mood, actors dressed as the otherworldly, ghoulish White Walkers will be present at the event.
The premiere forms part of the broader Night in the Metro initiative, which sees metro stations in the Russian capital transformed into temporary exhibition spaces.
For ticket information, be sure to keep an eye on the Moscow metro’s social media accounts.
