Tickets go on sale tomorrow for Unsound Dislocation in London

Experimental music festival Unsound is returning to London in December for Dislocation — two commissions and a world premiere at the Barbican, all exploring themes of disconnection and displacement.

The second Unsound event in London, following a UK edition of the festival in 2013, Dislocation will feature a rare live performance by The Caretaker aka electronic musician Leyland Kirby of V/VM, who will lead the audience on a journey through memory, time and disintegration via his curious collection of vinyls. The video accompaniment will be provided by Weirdcore.

Dislocation will also see two Unsound-commissioned shows enchant audiences at the Barbican. Nivhek (Liz Harris/ Grouper) is set to perform After its own death together with visual artist Marcel Weber, also known as MFO. Created during a residency in Murmansk, After its own death echoes the at once harsh and dreamlike quality of the Russian Arctic. London-based electronic musician felicita will collaborate with traditional dancers from Poland’s Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble for Soft Power.

The event at the Barbican accompanies a series of Dislocation events taking place across the post-Soviet space. Upcoming editions include Murmansk, Kazan and Lviv.

Dislocation will take place on 8 December at 7.30 pm. Tickets go on sale to Barbican Members at 10 am Thursday 20 July and on general sale at 10am on Friday 21 July.
