Enjoy this holiday hit from Turkmenistan’s president

If you’re tiring of the tunes on our summer playlist, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has you covered with a self-penned sure-fire holiday hit.

Mr Berdimuhamedov composed the track while on vacation in the resort town of Awaza on the Caspian Sea. Unveiling the track was a family affair, with the president enjoying the backing of his grandchildren for its first performance.

The song, titled Yashydda (I remember), could become more than just a song for a seaside sojourn — one of Mr Berdimuhamedov’s other compositions is the Turkmen team anthem for the upcoming 2018 Asian Games.
