Kiev’s BURSA gallery is hosting an exhibition about the phenomenon of raves and the techno renaissance in the countries of the former Soviet Union.

The Dance, Dance, Dance exhibition is part of the Kyiv Biennial 2017 and will open on Friday evening.

“The Kiev rave is practically the city’s business card for young people,” exhibition curator Sergei Klimko told Ukrainian cultural news website Cultprostir. “There is a similar situation in other capitals of the former Soviet Union and the countries of the Warsaw Agreement. However, in most cases there is no critical approach to this phenomenon.”

Artists whose work is featured include Mishka Bochkarev, Maria Gorodeckaya, Sergei Nikitin, Ihor Okuniev, Anna Rochnova, Kirill Savchenkov, Aleksei Taruts, Vova Vorotniov, Roman Himey and Yarema Malashchuk.

The exhibition is the first event taking place at BURSA gallery, a new art space in the Ukrainian capital.

More information about Dance, Dance, Dance can be found on the event’s Facebook page. The exhibition runs until 11 December.
