A scale replicate of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre made entirely of various types of dumplings was presented to the public at the InterFood Siberia food expo in Novosibirsk last weekend.

The elaborate concoction was built especially for the expo from a combination of Russian pelmeni, Caucasian and Central Asian manti and Ukrainian vegetarian vareniki. The sculpture formed a part of a display by a company that produces frozen dumplings.

The biggest theatre building in Russia, in 2015 the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre found itself at the centre of a scandal following a controversial production of Wagner’s opera Tannhäuser and has also been featured on the American reality TV show The Amazing Race.
