Socialist suppers: top London dinner club launches month-long celebration of Soviet cuisine

One of London’s top dinner clubs is celebrating the New Year with a month-long celebration of Soviet cuisine.

KinoVino will be giving guests the chance to sample four separate menus between 3 — 27 January, each exploring cuisine from behind the Iron Curtain.

Eager foodies will be able savour Moscow classics such as buckwheat kasha and herring in furs, taste traditional Siberian dumplings, and discover Central Asian dishes from Uzbekistan.

The special events form part of KinoVino’s residency at Nuclear Winter, a yuletide festival with a Cold War flavour. Entertainment will be provided in the festival’s own “nuclear bunker,” styled on the Stanley Kubrick classic, Dr Strangelove.
