A digital art installation from Latvia is among the first exhibits to be unveiled for the London Design Biennale 2018.
Latvia was among the first countries to be named as taking part in the event, alongside Israel, Norway, Lebanon and Guatemala.
The Latvian installation, Matter to Matter, will explore the relationship between nature and technology.
The interactive exhibit centres on a pane of glass covered with computer-generated condensation. Visitors will be able to write and draw in the digital water droplets, or retreat to a special meditation area to reflect on their relationship with nature.
Designed by Variant Studio, the installation aims to showcase the role of nature and the environment at the heart of a modernising Latvian culture.
Artists, writers and architects from more than 40 countries will be exhibiting newly commissioned work at the event, which explores the theme “emotional states”.
The London Design Biennale 2018 will run from 4 — 23 September 2018 at Somerset House.
