Global fashion brand Vogue is launching a new Polish edition embracing the country’s vibrant upcoming design scene.

Vogue Polska will launch on 14 February with a sleek cover shot by Juergen Teller and starring models Anja Rubik and Malgosia Bela in front of Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science.

The magazine has an independent Polish editorial team, but will publish the best work from both home and abroad, said editor-in-chief Filip Niedenthal.

“The magazine will include fine photographs coupled with honest journalism: sessions, features, a rich cultural section”, said Niedenthal. “Vogue speaks to millions of people around the globe, and now it will also speak in Polish.”

The new venture is a partnership between Vogue brand owners Condé Nast and Polish media company Visteria, who will launch the inaugural edition with a bumper print run of 160,000 copies. Both companies are hopeful that the brand can tap into Poland’s rapidly-growing spending power despite plummeting revenues for media outlets across the board.

“There is no questioning that Vogue Polska is the most eagerly awaited title of the last decade”, said Justyna Markiewicz, Visteria’s managing director. “The launch of the magazine was a conscious business decision in response to the rapid growth of Poland’s luxury goods market.”

Poland’s luxury market was estimated as being worth $4.9 billion (16.4 billion zlotys) in a 2016 report by KPMG, with that figure expected to rise to almost $6.2 billion in 2020. General spending power is also on the rise, with GDP up by 2.9 percent in 2016 and 3.8 percent in 2015.
