Georgia’s electronic scene is finally making waves across the West, with top industry mags dubbing Tbilisi as Europe’s must-visit rave destination.
But even back in 2014, Georgian Public Broadcasting was embracing electronica and its 90s roots in its documentary Electronauts.
Now the 50-minute special has resurfaced on YouTube complete with English subtitles, ready to bring the country’s rich contemporary culture to a whole new audience.
As well as following six Georgian musicians and their painstaking production processes, the documentary digs deep into country’s electronic music history and explores the pioneers who first put country on the map after the fall of the Soviet Union.
