Organisers at the inaugural Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art have announced the 99 artists and collectives set to appear at this year’s event.
Curated by Katerina Gregos, the event will host 113 different pieces in nine venues across the Latvian capital. Half of the works on display will be new commissions (denoted by an asterix on the list below), while a third of the artists set to exhibition will hail from the Baltic region itself.
The event — named Everything Was Forever, Until It Was No More in honour of Alexei Yurchak’s 2005 book about life in the Soviet Union — will run in from 2 June to 28 October.
