Artists and curators who want to discover Romania’s thriving contemporary art scene are being invited to apply for a month-long residency later this year in the heart of Bucharest.
Created by the Romanian Association of Contemporary Art (ARAC), the Plantelor 58 Residency will give one artist and one curator the chance to envision, document and create a site-specific project in the heart of the Romanian capital.
The team is looking for applicants to work with contemporary photography to create a project which draws on the historic and vibrant neighbourhood where the ARAC residency space is based. The rooms themselves are located in a 19th century inn, not far from Bucharest Old Centre.
The artistic residency will take place from 15 June to 15 July, while the curatorial residency will run between 20 July and 20 August.
Both curators and artists need to submit their application by 28 April.
