Air KREW Types of Crickets

You might remember the napalm scene from Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 epic war film Apocalypse Now: the jungle is ablaze and any dialogue is muffled by falling bombs. Decades later, one Russian musician would find himself on the beach in the Philippines where this very scene was shot. This time around, the vista was a paradise, the peaceful atmosphere punctuated only by the sound of crickets. This sound — a kind of heartbeat — was the foundation for the track “Types of Crickets” by AIR KREW.

The ambient composition, inspired by the course of life and death, so vividly inspired by the stories of this beach, comes complete with an enigmatic video by @panddr that features a mesmerising computer landscape — envisioned as a space for meditation and reflection. “Types of Crickets” is an ode to the resilience of nature that sooner or later reclaims what was once devastated.
