Living legend: Narkomfin, architectural icon and home

Over the last decade a unique community has sprung up in the decaying apartments of Narkomfin, an avant-garde communal housing block in Moscow. Now these residents — predominantly young people working in creative professions — are faced with sharply rising rents. For The Calvert Journal, photographer Sergei Savenkov, a former resident, returned to Narkomfin to capture the unique conditions inside the icon building
