The world’s deepest swimming pool is opening in Poland

Polish adventurers and would-be divers will soon be able to take the plunge in the world’s deepest swimming pool.
Based southwest of Warsaw in the town of Mszczonów, the Deepspot pool will reach 45 metres deep. The pool will hold 8,000 cubic metres of water — or the equivalent of 27 25-metre swimming pools.
When the venue opens its doors in autumn 2019, it will take the world record from the Hotel Montegrotto Terme, whose own pool, the Y-40 Deep Joy, reaches a mere 42 metres.
The team behind the project hope that the pool will be the perfect place for professional or experienced divers to practice their skills, although beginners are also welcome. If you don’t fancy getting wet, meanwhile, a special viewing tunnel will also reach out under the water itself.
Deepspot won’t hold its crown for long, however. The Blue Abyss swimming pool in the English city of Colchester is already poised to snatch the world record with a 50-metre-deep pool, set to open in 2020.
