Communist Bops is a viral Twitter account, run by a 17-year old A-Level student in the UK, that swaps patriotic Soviet anthems for pop songs by everyone from Katy Perry to The Smiths.

The Soviet officials who set up the Alexandrov Ensemble (also known as the Red Army Choir) would turn in their graves if they knew they were now remembered for their moves to Britney Spear’s Toxic, but the videos pay a sort of ironic homage to the artistry and energy of these unstoppable young men and women.
