Instagram must-follow Far East gives its followers a heady daily dose of breathtaking cliff tops and bountiful birch forests. The account is based in Russia’s Kamchatka, a peninsula which lies further east than Japan. With more than 300 volcanoes, 20,000 brown bears, six salmon types and an unusual variety of furry fauna, ranging from sea lions to silver foxes and sables, it remains a natural gem isolated from the rest of the country. The account crowdsources pictures, and is part of a wider project which campaigns to preserve wildlife in the area.
