Instagram account @everydaymoldova is committed to representing daily life in the small Eastern European country, with images that range from market stalls to artists’ studios.
From snapshots of village music rehearsals to medical students’ classes in the capital city of Chisinau, Everyday Moldova gives a glimpse into what happens behind closed doors in a place that relatively few tourists visit.
The account also covers the country’s full political spectrum of grassroots activists, including progressive youth protest groups, unionists who advocate for Moldova’s union with Romania, as well as anti-LGBT marchers.
@everydaymoldova is part of the international Everyday Projects, which aims to use visual storytelling to fight cliches and inequality around the world.
