A Warsaw restaurant has been shortlisted for Wallpaper* magazine’s ‘best new restaurant design’ award.
Designed by the Polish BUCK.STUDIO, Opasly Tom comforts and surprises through its minimalist symmetry, enveloping diners in coral, sage, honey and ink-blue hues. Materials including oak wood and velvet were used for the bespoke 1950s-inspired chairs, while rough and unpolished marble adorns tables, cupboards and walls.
But perhaps the most distinctive feature of the perfectly proportionate Opasly Tom — a restaurant specialising in contemporary Polish slow food — are the unusual hand-made pink-coloured pendant lamps, which give unique elegance to the space.
The winners in all 11 categories will be announced in the magazine’s February issue, released on 9 January.
