A new initiative is looking for European artists to illustrate Europe’s influential women in the fields of culture, politics, science, feminism, human rights, and art. The resulting images will end up in a card game that hopes to popularise their achievements across the world.

Artists will need to select one of the women on this list, which includes 19th Century Croatian poet Dragojla Jarnević, Slovenian pedagog Vita Zupančič, Ottoman and Yugoslav suffragette Rosa Plaveva among other inspiring women.

The Fierce Women WOW expansion deck is a collaboration between four NGOs — the Slovenian City of Women, Croatian Common Zone, North Macedonian Tiiiit! Inc., and Irish Outlandish Theatre Platform. It is also a sequel to The Fierce Women card deck.

The deadline for applications is 24 June. Winners will get a fee per illustration as well as the two card decks.
