Kyiv-based artist Hanna Svirska has released her solo debut, a soothing avant-pop single, which will bring the listener back to the present moment.
With synthesised May beetles singing, live harmonica sounds, and a fairy-like feminine voice, ‘Save Yourself’ feels like a futuristic haven with mythical, enchanting soundscapes providing an escape from daily worries. “Feel the magical beginning of our presence on this Earth. Its beauty and lightness,” Svirska, who is also an animator and graphic designer, tells the listener.
Following three years of collab work with Andrey Kunin, as part of the ongoing electronic band Tunelilisu, ‘Save Yourself’ is the 27 year-old’s debut single, written as she was fighting off depression during lockdown. “I wanted to achieve mental peace, by stopping the endless stream of thoughts and questions to myself,” Svirska told The Calvert Journal. “With it, I would like to help listeners feel the here and the now”.
