Huge melon-shaped tea house opened in Tajikistan

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has inaugurated a melon-shaped national tea house in the Gissar region of Tajikistan.

The opening ceremony took place yesterday, on the 3000th anniversary of Gissar.

According the the president’s press service, the tea house is unique “in its shape and design”.

Construction of the 43-metre-high tea house started in September 2014. Over its two floors, it accommodates over 2,000 people.
