Estonian design exhibition opens today in Vienna

10 November 2015

The designforum gallery in Vienna will showcase the work of Estonian designers in Austria’s first exhibition of Estonian design, opening today.

The exhibition is entitled Size Doesn’t Matter, a concept conceived by the Estonian Association of Designers (EDL). With this theme EDL aims to contrast the small size of Estonia with the scale of the achievements of Estonian designers.

Nearly 45 designers are taking part in the exhibition, including both young talents and established artists. The wide scope of the exhibition encompasses textiles, ceramics, glass, lighting, furniture, accessories, as well as book and packaging design.

EDL hopes that in showcasing Estonian achievements such exhibitions will boost both cultural exchanges and international opportunities for Estonian designers.

Curated by Ilona Gurjanova and its formulation designed by Tõnis Vellama, the exhibition is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture and the Estonian Cultural Endowment and organised by Design Austria and EDL.

Size Doesn’t Matter will take place from 10 – 29 November at the designforum gallery in Vienna.
