The Ross Limited, a Kazakhstan-based confectionery company, has unveiled what is thought to be the world’s most expensive box of chocolates.

The presentation of the chocolates, which are worth approximately US$14,000, was made in Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty.

Packaged in a hexagonal box made of pure volcanic glass, the six individual chocolates inside are designed in a different geometric shape to represent different elements in nature, such as fire, air, water and earth. Each of the chocolates are encrusted with gold.

According to company founder Adilkhan Sartayev, the chocolates were inspired by film stars Vivien Leigh, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.

“These three superstars throughout their lives showed us an example of creating absolute beauty. This is also our principle, and that is why we dedicate our gifts to them,” Mr Sartayev stated. The chocolates will be sent as a special gift to the studios where the actresses worked most.
