Russian pop singer Dima Bilan has announced that he is making a track and music video commemorating the Armenian Genocide.
According to the singer, who revealed the upcoming track during an interview with television channel Muz-TV at the recording of the Song of the Year concert in Moscow, the song is ready and shooting for the video has already begun. While part of the clip has already been filmed in Armenia’s Ararat Valley, the rest will be shot at Mosfilm in Moscow.
“I know this subject not only from history. My great-grandmother on my mother’s side — Shushan Tigranovna Krouni — saved a 13-year-old girl from death. She rescued Russian Old Believers, who also fled from Turkey to Russia,” Bilan stated, according to a report by RusArmInfo.
The music video is due to be released in April 2017 to mark the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
