The daughter of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has reportedly opened a sex shop in an elite shopping centre in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya.
18-year-old Aishat Kadyrova is the brains behind the Lady A boutique – a high-end shop in the Chechen capital selling lacy lingerie, erotic massage creams and lubricants, the BBC Russian service reported on Thursday.
The boutique was advertised at an exclusive opening for Chechnya’s top bloggers, as well as on a private Instagram account. It urges women to “be braver… It’s just between us”.
Aishat’s father, the conservative Ramzan Kadyrov who proclaims to be fiercly loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has built his image on promoting strict Islamic values, speaking out against sex education in schools and claiming that women who wear immodest clothing will “go to hell”.
Lingerie shops in Chechnya are not allowed to publically advertise, and hang their window displays with a veil of transparent netting.
Aishat has not spoken publicly about the boutique. When contacted by the BBC Russian service, representatives of Firdaws — the conservative Islamic fashion label which the 18-year-old also runs — declined to comment on the reports.
