Russian designer Max Zhivov has launched a new range of easy-build houseboats inspired by IKEA’s own brand of do-it-yourself flatpack furniture.
Equipped with a solar-powered motor, the Modul Go comes with a choice of 10 different sections or modules which can be fitted onto a basic floating platform.
Standing between 2.4 and 3.5 metres tall, the customisable sections include living modules, a potential cafe, an equipment rental point, a boat refueling module, a cargo hold and even a hydroplane dock.
The company is now working on an app which will allow users to mix and match modules to suit their own needs.
