Experimental music festival Unsound is heading to Azerbaijan for its first ever event in the Caucasus country.
The free, event on 1 — 2 June will see local talent share the stage in Baku with Berliners Errorsmith and Kangding Ray, Kazakhstan’s Nazira, and Polish Unsound resident DJ Olivia.
Local artists already confirmed to appear include Hazi Karim, Toghrul, Naschkatze and Leo Hazree, who will give guests a taste of Baku’s underground electronic scene.
The event is just one part of Unsound Dislocation, a two-year music project with events across the Caucasus, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Supported by the Goethe-Institut, the project explores the relationship between the so-called “centre” and its “peripheries”. The team has already held events in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, with more to be announced later this year.
