Giuliano Vivaldi is a translator, writer and blogger on film, cultural history and philosophy. He has written on various aspects of Russian and Soviet film for a variety publications including Senses of Cinema, Bright Lights Film Journal, Desist Film and others and has translated subtitles for many Russian-language films. He curated film retrospectives and events linked to the figure of Pier Paolo Pasolini in the UK and Russia. He also writes on critical Russian philosophy and has published articles on, and translations of, the Soviet philosopher Evald Ilyenkov. He has published in the Russian-language journals Stasis, New Literary Observer and OpenLeft.
