John Freedman

John Freedman is a writer and translator who has been based in Moscow since 1988. He was the theatre critic for The Moscow Times from 1992 to 2015. Since 2015 he has been an assistant to the artistic director at the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre. He has written or edited 11 books about Russian theatre, the most recent being Real and Phantom Pains: An Anthology of New Russian Drama.
