Brutal east: studio Zupagrafika launches post-war architecture paper cut-outs

24 February 2017

Poznań-based Hispano-Polish design studio Zupagrafika has unveiled “Brutal East”, a kit of illustrated paper cut-outs that allows you to recreate central and eastern European brutalist architecture from the comfort of your desk.

The kit features seven post-war buildings to assemble, including Belgrade’s eastern gate, the “Romanita” housing tower in Chișinău, Wrocław’s “Manhattan” housing complex and the Vilnius Palace of Concerts and Sports, also known as the Sporto Rūmai.

Produced using eco-friendly materials, recycled paper and cardboard, the kit also includes a short bio on each of the architects featured.

Headed by David Navarro and Martyna Sobecka, last year Zupagrafika launched a set of modernist architectural matryoshka blocks.
