Point of view: denim label THVM’s exclusive photos of the Russian North

Simplicity is one of the guiding design principles at Los Angeles-based denim brand This Here Very Moment (THVM). And, it's precisely this quality that the husband-and-wife team behind the label bring to this album of photos, shot exclusively for The Calvert Journal. Using a disposable camera provided by us, Brian Kim and Olga Nazarova document their six-day trip to Karelia, a region in northern Russia that stretches as far as the Arctic Circle. From Nazarova's grandmother's summer house in the village of Muezerka, the pair explored the local surroundings, picking lingonberries one day and swimming in the icy lake another. The result is a series of stunning photos that capture the village in full autumnal glory. "We went there for inspiration," says Nazarova. "It took us two days to drive there but it was totally worth it."
