Brutalism meets fairytale chic with these lamps made from moss, crystals, and concrete

16 July 2019

Vilnius-based startup Shroom in the Room infuses Lithuania’s woodland magic into the cold, clean lines of bare concrete blocks.

Founded by Ieva Jankauskiene and Vytenis Jankauskas, the brand says it wants to give customers “a small fairytale on [their] countertop” — mixing modern design with traditional materials. The pair are currently selling their goods through Etsy, where shoppers appreciate the product’s unusual design.

“I can say that there is no competition for sure,” says Jankauskiene. “The product is just so unique — and I’m not talking about Lithuania, I’m talking worldwide. It doesn’t matter where our company is based. The internet makes the world so much smaller and every part of it becomes so accessible.”
